Become A Sponsor

Building such a detailed and sturdy robot is not easy and we wouldn’t be able to function as a team without our sponsors.

Your contribution as a sponsor will enable the Wheaton Robotics Team to compete at the highest level. Each year, our team of 20-30 students designs and builds a robot that must be able to operate
autonomously, respond to an operator’s commands, and perform a wide variety of mechanical
functions. Students use critical thinking, collaboration, project management, computer-aided
design, manufacturing, and other technical skills. Students are also learning other skills such as
business and financial management, public relations, web design, graphic design, and
administration.

The team’s discipline and ambition have led to two district event victories in the past two years.
The competitions are weekend events hosting 30 to 50 teams. In preparation for each
competitive match, students research the capabilities of the opposing robot designs, agree on a
strategy then execute it in a high-pressure environment.

We need financial support as well as adult and company mentors in order to succeed. Our annual
budget is between $20,000 and $30,000. It covers competition fees, mechanical and electronic
components, robot fabrication materials, tools, community outreach, among other needs.
Team sponsors receive brand recognition on our web page, our robot, our team t-shirts and in our
competition pit area. Regular robot video updates will be shared with sponsors throughout the
season.
